Zairyu Card + My Number integration - questions

Hi everyone! I just renewed my residence card (在留カード) last week. The officer mentioned that by 2026, they're planning to integrate the Zairyu Card with the My Number system. Has anyone here already experienced this new integrated card? What's the process like? Also, my company has been asking for copies of my Zairyu Card for 'records' - is this normal? Any advice from long-term residents would be appreciated!
