PR (永住) — should I apply NOW before the fee jumps to 300,000 yen? My honest dilemma

So the permanent residency application fee is reportedly going from 10,000 yen to up to 300,000 yen (×30) under the 2026 immigration law revision. I've been in Japan 5 years and was *planning* to apply 'someday'. Now I'm thinking — do I rush it before the hike? But my paperwork (tax records, pension proof) isn't fully ready, and I heard the revocation rules are also getting stricter. Has anyone here applied recently? How long did it take, and is it worth rushing? Genuinely torn 🤔
